After last night/this morning’s sub drama with Toradora! it was nice just waking up and finding the right torrent with good subs ready for download.
Anyway, about the episode: It wasn’t exactly what I expected from last preview, but still was quite enjoyable, we see Tomoya/Sunohara in the second year doing what they do best: wasting time around. We get to see how Kyou met them (and how Okazaki is such a nice guy, lol), how he doesn’t call her Fujibayashi, and even the “start” of Kyou’s love for him. (which, taking in account what happens later (at least in the nagisa arc) was quite bad for Kyou, poor thing.) And we even get a glimpse of the Fujibayashi estate (bath scene FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, lol japs and their green water/green tea) as Ryou catches the first drifts of Kyou not hating Okazaki.
On Nagisa’s side, however, I didn’t get nearly enough of what I expected. She bumped into Okazaki while looking at the class she was assigned to, she saw them running around (lol), but no real interaction. Until the prank, Okazaki/Sunohara make a Kusudama (y’know, that party ball thingy from Super Smash Bros. this thing.) with a metal pot thing inside (wtf?) which no one seemed to fall for, until Nagisa (a senior, even) pulled the string and took a hit from the falling pot. This causes her to faint, but when waking up, she sees a girl that wanted to talk to her. So long story short, they become friends thanks to Okazaki’s prank. And to always remember that, Nagisa saves the banner that Okazaki wrote as it was the thing that encouraged her, foreshadowing the following relationship. (Does it count as foreshadowing if we already saw the result? :P)
In conclusion, this was a nice episode in a awww, and in a “they were meant to be!!11one” kinda way, but it wasn’t that cool for people (like me) wanting to see more of the Okazakis’ relationship. But it’s all good.
Also next week’s episode is gonna be a summary of the series D: They should have used the extra episode to make an alternative universe animation… Kyou’s game route > Tomoyo’s.
