Why am I watching an anime about Mahjong? I don’t even know how to play it. Someone recommended me it, or I saw it in a thread somewhere. Probably.
The plot revolves around this girl, she’s good at mahjong, but doesn’t like playing because that’s how she rolls. Her friend invites her (more like drags her along, lol Japan) to the mahjong club, when he learns she knows how to play it, thinking it’ll be a easy game.
So she uses some 1337 h4x to always end up with 0 points. And supposedly that’s badass. So the club president gets her to play a little more, in order to test her. The episode ends with her using some awesomely rare technique or something to get the score of 0 she wants.
So, in conclusion, should I continue watching it? In one side, the characters and relations between them sound interesting. On the other side lol mahjong. Plus the game scenes looked a lot like Yu-Gi-Oh! to be, including little lightening effects when Saki played a important piece and dramatic face close-ups, which was kinda lol.
I think I’ll watch the next episode, but I’ll drop it if it keeps on the Yu-Gi-Oh! game focused plot, and they don’t develop the characters. Well, the anime is about the game after all, maybe I shouldn’t have started watching it~
